Classy!
I would love to take a fitness class!
There are three classes being offered at my son's dance studio -- it would be so fun to do something with other adults (besides work).
Everyone else in the family has their sports and activities and while I have things I do, like walk the dogs and write, I don't do anything on a team or with other people (unless they're the other parents playing a supporting role to their kids at practices or games).
It would be great to be able to get back to yoga -- I've run into or met a couple of people in recent months that have reminded me of this.

My day "off"
It's Saturday and it's my birthday!
My husband is helping some friends move today with a bunch of guys from their baseball team. My kids aren't with us until 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, so I have the whole day free, to do whatever I want!
Well, except my oldest stayed here last night, because his class trip was today, so I had to get up early and drive him to school. It was the one day where he told me, "Mom, it's time to go!" Usually, it's the other way around. And he really didn't need to tell me that, we were 15 minutes early as it was.

My caffeine hangover
I was really dragging this morning and having trouble staying focused on work. I thought, "I should walk the dogs," but then, "I have so much work to do," and then, "I know -- I'll have a tea!"
I should have walked the dogs.
I made a tea and thought, "what the heck, a little milk won't kill me," because I needed something to cool it off.
And I was right, I don't think it was the milk that did it.

When you change it makes others uncomfortable
How many of us have written in someone's yearbook in high school or college, "don't ever change"?
I thought it was amusing then and I do now. Of course people are going to change, especially after high school.
What is it about change that makes people uncomfortable? Your friends and family certainly don't want you to remain "18" for the rest of your life, do they?
Obviously some change occurs from natural evolution, but some is more intentional. Some change is intended to offset natural evolution (as in my case -- new health habits to combat the effects of sugar addiction and sedentary job.) We, ourselves, may find change uncomfortable: I imagine the primary driver of change is that it became too painful not to change (I couldn't bear the thought of buying bigger clothes and not feeling good about how I looked in pictures).

Sleeping, eternally and otherwise
[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="2000"] I did not get up this morning until my dog started nibbling my hand[/caption]
I slept in this morning, which is a rarity for me. Usually, my body alarm clock doesn't know the difference between weekend (variable depending on husband's/kids' sports and church) and weekday (anywhere between 5 a.m. and 5:45 a.m. depending on husband's/kids' work and school schedules or sometimes our elderly dog Gracie's harumphing next to my side of the bed or click-click- clicking toenails as she pads down the hall, which would cause my husband or me to bolt out of bed to make sure we opened the door for her to go outside in time. I nicknamed her "Cling-cling" because she used to shake her collar and wake us up with the tags jingling -- until I took her collar off -- but the nickname stuck).

Growing "old" gracefully
"What's that box on the counter?" my husband asked me.
I said, "It's some products I ordered from So-and-so's company -- remember, I told you I was going to."
So-and-so was a co-host for an awesome cookout we attended two weekends ago. That particular weekend I went to two cookouts and saw some old friends, and also made six or seven new connections that I really enjoyed. (Two, though interesting to talk to, reminded me why I don't drink alcohol or smoke cigarettes anymore.)
